What is Service Line Coverage and how is it applied?

Service Line coverage is a type of endorsement that provides protection against damage to the underground utility lines and pipes that supply essential services to a home. These service lines may include water, sewer, electrical, natural gas, and communication lines, among others. In the event of damage or failure to any of these lines, it is often the homeowners responsibility to repair. Service Line coverage applies to wear and tear, rust and corrosion, mechanical breakdown, freezing or frost and tree/root invasion - from the street or sidewalk up to the foundation of the home at various coverage levels depending on the carrier.
